Representative, Senator, and President of the Senate Clemente Gomes are in this picture. Ray was adopted by the couple when his father passed. Mary, called Titia (Auntie in Portuguese) was the sister of Ray's biological mother. The sisters were half Portuguese and half Chinese. Their maiden name was Achee.

Bill, baby Frances, Dorothy, Jimmy Moniz, Laura at top. Dorothy sat at the top of the stairs looking down on Pearl Harbor and sobbing as it was being attacked. Bill and Alex had to go to Pearl to evacuate sailors.

Gilbert Fernandes was in the Korean War. However, his mother and sister Dorothy worked to get him home as he was the only child. They succeeded. Gilbert had a Masters degree in Social Work and worked with the Navajo's in Gallup. His office was in Riverside. The woman he married was a great disappointment to his family.
